About Choke Cherries:
For many Native American tribes of the Northern Rockies, Northern Plains, and boreal forest region of Canada and the United States, chokecherries were the most important fruit in their diets. The chokecherry fruit can be used to make a tasty jam, jelly, or syrup, but the bitter nature of the fruit requires sugar to sweeten the preserves - not so much with the brewing process. Chokecherry is also used to craft wine in the western United States, mainly in the Dakotas and Utah, but using them in mead and beer is catching on quickly as well. Mash up Choke Cherries and cover them in water and boil for an hour, then use this sweet liquor to make mead. Similar uses for brewing and vintening.
Our Choke Cherries are wild harvested in the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado. All products are vacuum sealed and shipped fresh!
NOTE - Although Juniper Berries have been used for the beneficial flavors and aromos for centuries, always consult your nearest berry specialist / doctor before consuming such things.
